2010 Chevrolet Camaro

Postby Bilnick » Tue Oct 21, 2008 10:50 am

Got an e-mail from Chevy that they are taking orders for the 2010 Camaro.

I definitely want one! http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro/ I will be getting a black SS, 422hp, 6 speed manual.

Now, if I can just convince the wife I need a 3rd car........ Well maybe I will get a 2011. :)

Magazine reviews of the base V6 model sound good.

Doesn't it look like it sacrificed muscle for meek? Not saying it doesn't look good, just not my feel for a Camaro. When I look at that, I see Mustang.

That picture shows the 2010 with the original 1967 model.

The 2010 took some styling cues from the '67, obviously.

422 hp V8 isn't enough muscle? GM has only made the 300hp V6 available for testing, that is why all 3 reviews tested only the V6. My 1999 Z28 has "only" 305 hp for comparison (GM did underrate the hp of Camaros and Firebirds though, so they would not have the same hp rating as the Corvette)

Sitting them next to each other, you can see some similarities.

Thing is the reason you saw the Mustang is that they are competeing cars both aiming for that same spot in consumers drive ways. /shurg

Is the car in the picture yours? If so, very nice, post some more pics please.

Corvair was a nice car, but it was more of an economy type car for its day wasn't it? Corvairs never really had a high performance model did they?

One car I would like to see reborn is the Pontiac Fiero. The first ones were junk, but the last couple of model years (1988 or so) were pretty nice.

With all the issues GM is having right now, I just hope the Camaro makes it to market.

The one in the Picture isnt mine I will try to take some pictures this weekend for ya...

There was a High Performance Corvair It was the Spyder

It had the Larger Engine and a 150 HP Turbo.... I like it though the turbo's are Cranky and out here in New Mexico there are a few people who rip the engine out of the back and Drop in Big V-8 Conversion for the Race Tracks.... Imagine having this Big Block Right behind your Seat :/ I would love to drive one though as my Spyder I can tap the Gas and make the Front wheels come off the Ground :) Would love to see what would happen with a V-8 Engine but i will prolly never do that myself lol

Anyway they are cool cars and prolly the less expensive of the classic cars to restore... Though Latley they are going up in price

Were Corvairs fiberglass?

They definitely have a nice style to them, too bad Ralph Nader gave them an unwarranted bad reputation.

I have seen a couple of Fiero's with small blocks installed in them. Was pretty fast.

Fiero is just too small is all hehe... at least the Camaro has power and a little room for cargo and passengers.
